Girls win 1st Round of the Track and Field Cup
Congratulations to the Under 13 Girls Team who won the 1st Round of the National Track and Field Cup on Friday at Watford Woodside Stadium. The 12 girls beat teams from HABS girls, Princess Helena College, Haileybury College, Watford Grammar School for Girls, Loreto College and Queens School with the nearest team 22 points behind us. Our points score of 305 points is a good total and is hopefully enough for us to make a regional final later this term. Adi Milton was our top points scorer with an excellent 42 points from 2 events (all results are posted on the year 8 results page). Well done to the whole team for an excellent performance.
20 year old record broken!
Congratulations to Ruby Self in year 7 who has broken the year 7 girls 20 year old 100m record. The record of 13.6 was set in 1992 by Elena Dundjerovic and Ruby broke the record on Thursday, running 13.48 at Westminster Lodge. It is an outstanding achievement to break such a long standing record set by one of Beaumont's strongest athletes. Well done Ruby!

County League Round 1
Tonight we hosted our first County League match of the season at a cold and damp Westminster Lodge. The year 10 age groups both finished 5th but the athletes who did compete worked extremely hard. It is a real shame that a number of athletes could not compete tonight but Holly, Tom, Dino, Sophie, Will, Niamh and Aisha represented the school well and hopefully will have a full team to compete in next week at Gosling. Both teams finished fifth (team and individual stats are posted on the year 10 page)
The year 8 age groups performed extremely well, with the boys finishing second, only 3.5points off first, and the girls first, 11points ahead of the next team. The boys won 5 events out of 13 with the girls winning 7 out of 11 events (see the year 8 page for individual stats).
Hosting an event takes a large number of staff and all of the athletes were well organised, helpful and worked extremely hard in all of their events. Thanks to all of you who did compete tonight, and the parents who came to support, lets hope it is warmer for next weeks meeting!
