Congratulations To David Etheridge (year 8), Alex Powdrell (year 8) and Emily Anders (year 7) who both broke school records at this weeks final County League meeting.
Alex vaulted 2.10m, whilst David set his second record of the year throwing 12.38m in shot. This record is all the more impressive as it was previously held by Ashley Ralph, who went to the English Schools Finals, making the shot final when in year 11. Emily Anders 800m record run of 2m30.6 seconds took 4 seconds off the previous best, set by Karis Mimms, a member of the triple National Finalist team. Well done and congratulations to all three athletes.

Athletes perform well at the County Champs, Ross and Holly become County Champions!
Congratulations to all of the athletes who competed at the County Champs in Hemel on Saturday.
In the Inter age group Joe Matos ran in the 100m and Holly Seglah in the 200m, both narrowly missing out on final places. Tian Figg finished 6th in the Inter girls Discus, with Naomi Baker (Inter girls 800m) and Josh Clifford (Inter boys 1500m) both running extremely well with Josh finish fourth and Naomi third in a personal best time. Naomi also competed in the long jump, jumping 4m22cm.
The Junior age group saw more excellent results for Beaumont athletes. Shiloh Wallace ran strongly in his heat of the 100m, as did Henry Peachey from year 8 a year out of age. David Etheridge reached the final of the 200m finishing 7th, also year out of age, with Olivia Almond also finishing 7th in the girls Javelin final. Adi Milton also finished 7th in her final of the hurdles, whilst Jacob Bockenhauer jumped a personal best of 10m97cm to finish 5th in triple jump.
Holly Brando was our first County Champion of the day, winning with a throw of 26m50cm in the Discus, an excellent performance.
In the Pre Junior age group, Eve Harrison ran extremely well to finish 7th in the girls 200m final and also competed in the long jump. Nathan Glasscoe competed in the boys javelin and, although throwing around 23m threw 3 no throws. Callum Hunter finished in the top 6 in long jump, whilst Alex Banathy and Ross Adams both made the final of the 100m and 200m, with Ross finishing 5th in the 100m final and Alex 3rd, a very strong performance.
Emily Anders went one better in the 1500m, finishing second in a time of 5m15s, a really great run.
Ross Adams was our outstanding athlete of the day. As well as reaching two sprint finals, he won the pre junior boys Shot competition and the Discus competition to become a double County Chamion, an outstanding achievement. Not only did he win two competitions but he also broke the County Championships Record with a great throw of 31m95cm. This is also a new school record, breaking a 14 year old record by over 6m!
It was great to see so many Beaumont athletes performing well in such a high level of competition, well done to all of you!

Year 7 boys smash the relay record
Congratulations to George Heeley, Ross Adams, Oli Wilmott and Alex Banathy who have broken the year 7 4 X 100m school record by almost 2 seconds. The previous record of 27.5s was set in 1998. The new record of 55.72s was a great run and they have a chance of winning the District Final if they can get the changeovers just right. Well done boys!
Holly does it again!
Congratulations to Holly Brando who has broken the year 9 girls Beaumont Discus record for the third time in three competitions. Her throw of 26.53m beats her previous record set just before half term by almost 50cm. Hopefully she can break it again at the County Champs on Saturday! Well done Holly.
