Senior Team retain the District Trophy and Senior Boys win for the first time!

Congratulations to the Senior Boys and Girls Athletics Team who retained the Senior Combined District Athletics Trophy last Wednesday evening at Westminster Lodge.
With fourteen top 3 event finishes, the team were absolutely outstanding.

In the girls competition, the team finished third behind St Georges and the High School. Individually, Olivia Campion was third in Shot, Anna Hardisty second in High Jump whilst Tian Figg was our first Champion of the evening, winning Discus.

In the Boys competition, Cain Joseph (triple jump), Will Sharp (long jump), Jacob Bockenhauer (high jump), Tom Dean (200m) and Ed Anders (800m) all finished in third place.
We had a number of District Champions, with Cain Joseph (100m), Henry Peachey (400m), David Etheridge (shot), Jacob West (discus), James Hennessey (javelin) and Cain Joseph, Henry Peachey, Tom Dean and Will Sharp (4 X 100m relay) all winning their events.
This outstanding set of results meant that for the first time ever the boys team won the senior event, beating St Columbas College into second place by 10 points.

This meant that in the combined event the team finished first, scoring 273 points with St Georges in second, 59 points behind.

Well done to everyone who competed and thank you to all of those pupils for whom this was your last competition for Beaumont. A particular thank you to Ed Anders and Naomi Baker who have captained the team for the last two years, what a great way to finish!
