Congratulations to the following pupils who won their events today to become District Champions, and particularly the two athletes who won two events:
Year 7: Will Sharp (Long Jump); Alex Powdrell (Pole Vault); Ruby Self (100m and Long Jump)
Year 8: Lewis Montgomery moore (Discus); Holly Brando Holahan (Discus)
Year 9: Naomi Baker (Long Jump)
Year 10: Holly Seglah (200m and Javelin)
The Year 7 girls team and Year 9 girls team both finished in third place, well done to everyone who competed today.
The Year 8 Girls Team have qualified for the County League Final in the fist week of July after scoring 47 points in their final County League match on Monday. This is the first time since 2006 a team has reached a County Final, an excellent achievement.
They also have qualified for the Regional Final of the Track and Field Cup at Woodside Stadium next Thursday and need to check the noticeboard for details.
Thank you to all of the athletes who have completed consistently over the whole season and those in certain age groups who continued to compete when occasionally let down by members of their team. The teams that have been most successful are those who have trained and fielded full teams and therefore deserve the success for their hard work and commitment.
